TECHNICAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Comwave Technical Services is currently seeking dynamic and talented technical minds to enhance its front line support team.  The Technical Services Associate will provide a superior level of technical support to our Residential and Corporate clientele while maintaining a professional and exceptional level of customer service. The Technical Services Associate will be responsible for handling all inbound calls presented and effectively listen, communicate, and troubleshoot efficiently to resolve all technical inquiries completely.  Attention to detail in both written and listening skills will be the key strengths of being successful in this role.

Department: Technical Services
Status: 6 month contract w/ full-time option
Hours: 37.5/week
Reports to: Manager, Technical Services

Position Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all incoming inquiries (calls and remote customer support) and concerns
  • Provide an exceptional level of iPhone & Long Distance technical support to Comwave Residential and Corporate customers by actively listening, documenting, and striving for a high level of first call resolution
  • Prioritize numerous issues of varying severity, and effectively manage the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels
  • Following up on e-mail support requests and calls delegated from Management are required to provide resolution and preserve a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Escalate potential product or system issues to Technical Services Management, as well as customer inquiries to preserve problem resolution in a timely manner
  • Interface with other Comwave departments and groups when required; re-direct appropriate calls to other departments.
  • Encourage the use of Comwave’s exceptional products and services.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Work with management and Operations on special projects when required.
  • Provide assistance with all general duties required for the smooth operations of the Technical Services Department

Professional Qualifications:

  • Excellent command of the English language; speech, written, and reading
  • Additional languages are an asset (French, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese)
  • Minimum high school education – Post-secondary preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2K/XP/Vista
  • Working knowledge of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Netscape
  • Strong knowledge of the Internet and related protocol & applications such as: TCP/IP, DHCP, PPPoE, Telnet, Ping, Tracert, routers, and networking are preferred
  • Basic knowledge of H.323, SIP, MGCP is an asset
  • Working knowledge – MS Word & Excel
  • Acute analytical skills with the ability to use logic to modularize and break down complex issues
  • Effective soft skills with a track record for neutralizing tense situations is preferred
  • Touch typing (50 WPM or more) is preferred
  • IT certifications such as: MCSE, A+, CCNA, are assets
  • Will require flexibility for day, evening, weekend and/or holiday shifts

CUSTOMER CARE

Customer Care positions are available at our two Toronto facilities: 4884 Dufferin Street and 40 Wynford Drive.

You will handle inbound calls from customers. Must have basic computer and internet experience as well as a minimum of one year call center experience. Multiple languages are an asset: Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and French. Strong command of the English language is a must.
