This is due to having a WIFI connection with no internet service or a conflict between your WIFI router and ePhone. Check the internet connection on your WIFI & 3G. A possible solution is to set a static IP on your phone’s WIFI connection. Here’s how:
Settings --> Network Connections --> Wi-Fi
Tap and hold on the wireless connection you are using then tap on the pencil icon.
Change Auto Obtain IP to OFF
The IP address, Primary DNS and Default Gateway need to be set. These values depend on your router setup and we are unable to provide you with the specifics as we do not have access to this information. The following is the most popular settings:
IP Address: 192.168.x.y
Primary DNS: 192.168.x.1
Default Gateway: 192.168.x.1
X is normally either 1 or 2 depending on the router.
Y is the number of your choice. Best to choose a number between 5 and 200
Please note that changing your IP address on your device may cause issues on your network or conflicts with other devices. It is up to you to determine if this is the best course of action and to ensure no conflicts will arise from changing your Wi-Fi setting.
How can I prevent the screen on my BlackBerry from going black during a call?

I am not receiving notifications for incoming calls to my iOS device.
In your iOS settings in the notifications window, please ensure notifications are turned on for ePhone.
How do I sign up for ePhone?
You can sign up for ePhone by downloading the app from the app store of the device you are using and following the sign up process. You can also sign up for an account by going to www.ephone.net
I can't find ePhone in the App Store/BlackBerry World/Google Play. Where can I
ePhone is only available for download from these locations and is not restricted by us for download in any country. There are a few countries in the world that prevent the download of VoIP applications such as ePhone within these stores. Unfortunately this is out of the control of ePhone.
Where is my VoiceMail Passcode?
When you sign up for the voice mail service ($10/year) your passcode will be sent to your email. If you need to reset this passcode you may do so from the My Account panel within www.ephone.net and going to the VoiceMail tab.
My Number has changed. What happened?
Due to inactivity on your ephone number with incoming calls your phone number may have been replaced with a virtual number. Your account can still make outgoing calls just like before but will be unable to receive calls from non-ephone users. If you have a voicemail subscription ($10/year) your number will not be replaced with a virtual number.
I purchased minutes, but my online account balance shows $0. Where are my minutes?
The balance online of $0 is referring to the balance owing on your account not the credits you have for minutes. To check the balance of minutes, you can do so in two ways.
- On BlackBerry, you can tap the three dots in the lower right and then tap check balance, and the system will read off your balance to you. - Make an international call where charges apply and the system will tell you before the call is completed how many minutes you have left.
The app shows "Not Connected". How can I get ePhone to connect?
There are three possible causes for ePhone to show “not connected” when you have an internet connection.
1. The internet connection is not stable enough for ePhone to connect to the servers. If you have only tried connecting with one type of connection (3G/4G or WIFI), try on another type of connection if possible. 2. VoIP services are being blocked by the internet provider, carrier, or country you are connecting from. Oman, Lebanon, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and some connections in Pakistan are known for blocking VoIP services from running. Unfortunately ePhone is unable to bypass these regulations. You may wish to speak with your internet provider to see if they are blocking VoIP services. Other countries and internet providers not listed may also block VoIP services like ePhone. 3. The application needs to be reinstalled. The best method for this is to delete ePhone from your device. Shut down the phone and remove the battery (if possible on your device). After 10 seconds reinsert the battery, start up the device, and reinstall ePhone.

How do I edit my contacts?
ePhone syncs contacts with your phone’s address book. To change or add numbers you can do so through your phone’s regular list.
What is my account balance?
When you make an outbound call a recording will come on before connecting to the destination stating the current balance on your account.
On BlackBerry, you may also tap the dots in the lower right and then tap Check Balance. The system will read off your balance to you.
I received the error EP004. What does this mean?
This error occurs when too many accounts have been created by a single user. Please sign in with your existing ePhone account.
I received the error EP005. What does this mean?
EP005 is an error generated when too many account sign-ups have occurred from the same IP address in a short period of time. If the previous sign up was not performed by you or your device, please try again after some time.
Can I transfer my phone number to or from ePhone?
Porting numbers to or from ePhone is not an option at this time.
Can I transfer my calling credits to another account?
Calling credits are non-transferrable.
How do I change my caller ID?
Outbound caller ID cannot be changed at this time for ePhone accounts.
Can I change my phone number?
Numbers are selected at sign up and cannot be changed at a later time.
How do I keep the phone number assigned to me?
To ensure the phone number assigned at registration does not expire, please ensure you receive incoming calls at least every 30 days. The best way to ensure your number never expires is to have the voice mail service ($10/year). If your number does expire, you will still be able to make outgoing calls as well as receive incoming calls from other Comwave or ePhone numbers.
Do ePhone calling minutes expire?
ePhone credits do not expire. If an ePhone account is dormant for longer than 6 months (no incoming or outgoing calls), it may be at risk of being cancelled and any minutes in the account will be lost.
Do you have a phone number available in my city?
Many cities across the USA and Canada are available to select numbers from during sign up. At times, there may be some cities with no numbers available. Stock of these numbers will be replenished periodically as they become available. We are unable to provide ETA’s or availability of numbers not offered during sign up.
Can I have a vanity or custom number?
No. Numbers are automatically assigned at registration.
Can you send me the credentials to use the ePhone service in another app?
ePhone accounts must be used with the ePhone app or through www.ephone.net.
