You can also add new search engines by clicking the Add button next to the Other Search Engines label. To search using any of them, type the URL, such as yahoo.com and press the Tab key. You\u2019ll see the address bar change to \u201cSearch Yahoo\u201d rather than Google. Simply open a new tab or window, then type in what you want to convert, whether it\u2019s a currency or a unit for measurement. You can type in \u201c5 ft in metres&#8221; and Google will automatically provide the conversion. Similarly, you can type in \u201c1 USD to CAD\u201d and get the currency conversion.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><b>Use Chrome as a timer or stopwatch<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Need to set a timer or use the stopwatch? Rather than pulling out your phone, you can do it directly in the Chrome window you\u2019re already on. Just type in a query like \u201ctimer 10 minutes\u201d and hit enter, and you\u2019ll be directed to a search result page with the combined timer and stopwatch functions at the top. This certainly beats using another device, much less navigating to another site to do it.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><b>Launch Chrome with a set of pages by default<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you have a specific set of pages you always use? You can set Chrome to open them every time you launch the browser. This way, you\u2019ll always have quick access to your most visited sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All you need to do is click on the menu icon &gt; Settings &gt; You and Google &gt; On Startup. Then, select Open a Specific Page or Set of Pages and click Add a New Page or type in a specific URL. Alternatively, you can also open these tabs then navigate to the On Startup section in the settings and click Use Current Pages.<\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><b>Use \u201cflags\u201d to test new features<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not a lot of people know this, but Google is always inviting users to try new features.
