How do I connect my Comwave TV?
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the back of the Set-Top-Box
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your TV
- Connect one end of the Ethernet cable (blue or yellow cable) to the back of the Set-Top-Box
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your Internet modem
- Plug in the power cord
- Switch on your TV
- Select the HDMI input on your TV to which you connected the set-top-box to (i.e. HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3 or HDMI4)
Can I use my Comwave set top box anywhere there is internet service?
The Comwave set top box can only be used with a Comwave internet connection at this time.
Can I use my Comwave remote for my TV?
If you have the Comwave Universal remote, you can program it to control your TV. Please see the programming guide here.
Can I search for specific programs?
Yes, press the menu button.
From there, select “Search” and type the name of the show you are looking for.
What can I do if the time zone is not correct in the Guide?
Go to “Settings”
Click “Time Zone”
Select the city you live in or the one closest to you.
How can I set my favorite channels?
Go to “Settings”
Click “Favorites” and select from the list of channels you want to set as your favorites.
Is Netflix included in the Comwave TV Apps?
No, it is not included at this time.
Can I use one Comwave set top box for multiple TVs?
No, you will need one Comwave set top box for each TV.
I have no signal message on my TV. What should I do?
Make sure the Set-Top-Box is turned on and ensure the TV is set to the proper input/source.
How many shows can I record at once?
There is no limitation to the amount of shows you can record at once.
How do I set up parental control ?
Access the “Settings” on the Comwave TV Box .
Select the Parental Control option on the left-hand side.
Enter a 4 digit security code of your choice.
Set the Parental Control toggle to ON.
Select the ratings you would like to restrict.
Once the Parental Control is set to ON the security code will be required to view any programs that are restricted.
How many hours of recordings can be stored?
You can store up to 250 hours of recordings.
How do I schedule a recording?
Press the red button on your Comwave TV Box remote and select the desired timeframe on the Calendar to schedule the recording.
How do I access my recordings?
Select the “Menu” button on your Comwave remote to access recordings.
If my internet disconnects, can I still watch my recorded shows?
If your internet is not connected you will not be able to watch recorded shows. ComwaveTV requires active internet to view live and recorded shows.
How do I enable/disable Closed Caption feature?
Press “Settings” on your Comwave TV remote.
Select Closed Caption option on the left hand side.
Press ‘On” to enable or “Off” to disable.
Why do some of channels freeze or buffer?
If you are experiencing buffering or freezing this is likely due to a slow internet connection or weak wi-fi signal .
We recommend customers use an Ethernet cable from their internet modem to the set top box for better TV experience.
Why do some channels show a blank screen and do not work?
Ensure your Comwave TV is powered on.
Check your internet connection.
Reboot your Comwave set top box by unplugging the power cord on your set top box, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging the power cord back in.
If there is no problem with your Internet connection and you continue to see a black screen, it could be related to the feed or you may not be subscribed to this particular channel. Please go to comwave.net/help and submit a “Trouble With My Service” ticket and a Technical Support representative will contact you.
Why am I missing some channels from the guide?
Some channels may be missing from the guide because there is a filter applied to the Guide.
To cancel the filtered settings, press the yellow rectangle button on your remote.
In the channels section, toggle to “All Channels.”
In the quality section, toggle to “All. Select OK to apply settings.
You should now see all the channels in your guide.
Why is the Set Top Box stuck on the loading page?
The set top box may be stuck on the loading page because there is an issue with your internet connection. To ensure there is no issue with your connection, check that your internet is working. If the issue persists, please go to comwave.net/help and submit a “Trouble With My Service” ticket and a Technical Support representative will contact you.
I can see the picture, but I have no audio, why?
You may be experiencing a lack of audio because the volume is not turned up on your set top box and TV.
The Comwave set top box has its own volume control. Make sure both the TV and set top box are not muted and increase both volumes gradually.
Why is my set top box or remote non-responsive?
If your remote is not working, please ensure the batteries are not low.
It is important to point the remote at the set top box and ensure there is nothing covering the set top box that may be interfering with the signal from the remote.
